About Passkeys

The main benefit is quick and easy sign-in, without the need to create and manage passwords. Passkeys also provide more security than passwords because they are uniquely generated for every account by your own device and are less vulnerable to compromise.

Passkeys come in pairs - one half is stored with Costco, and the other half is stored on your device. In order to truly delete a passkey both halves will need to be removed.

Passkeys are new features on computers and smartphones that enable secure sign-in using biometric verification, such as a fingerprint or face scan, or a screen lock PIN. For details, go to Apple’s or Google’s overview of passkeys.
